About Us

The Cincinnati Film Society (CFS) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1979 with a purpose to encourage the appreciation of film as an art form by providing opportunities to view foreign, classic, and other films, and by bringing together film devotees to learn about and discuss film.

Today, the Cincinnati Film Society’s mission is to expand access for the public enjoyment and appreciation of motion pictures as a form of powerful artistic expression. We encourage sociocultural diversity by exploring cinematic history, providing youth education, and services to entrepreneurial filmmakers.

Cut/Wrap is a newsletter by CFS that will address all of the touch-points of the organization’s mission, covering topics ranging from happenings in the local film community to film reviews on local, national, and international productions, to critical explorations of the role film plays in our society and culture. There will also be content created by teens with a budding interest in cinema arts.

Created by a dedicated team of film enthusiasts, arts professionals, and writers, Cut/Wrap will have content for everyone. So whether you merely have a passing interest in movies or are a seasoned film professional, we invite you to follow us.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer writer please email us at CincyFilmSociety@gmail.com.
